NBA Legend Vince Carter Scholarship Launch In Toronto Area
ORONTO, Jan. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – Today marks the official launch of the Vince Carter Scholarship and Mentorship Program in the Toronto area. The $ 25,000 dollar per student scholarship primarily targets high school students who have a passion for sports, music, film, fashion, broadcasting, media, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

In 1996, Caribbean Potpourri initiated the first A.C.C.P.I Scholarship Awards to mark Hamilton’s 150th birthday, but more importantly to reward and celebrate high-school graduates entering post-secondary institutions for their Academic Excellence and outstanding Community Service.
Starting in 2005, Caribbean Potpourri added awards in the Arts / Skills / Technology programs to reward a wider range of students who have contributed to the African-Caribbean community. Founded in 1983, the Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) is a charitable organization whose mission is to advance Canada’s Black community by facilitating the delivery of programs that support business and professional excellence, higher education and economic development. The BBPA presents the Annual Harry Jerome Awards, the BBPA National Scholarships and the National Black Business and Professional Convention (NBBPC).

Reverend John C. Holland Awards
Established in 1996, the Reverend John C. Holland Awards celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the community with a particular focus on the contributions of African Canadians to the social, economic and cultural life of our entire city. Each year the Hamilton Black History \committee joins with the wider community to celebrate the achievements of youth and acknowledge the contributions of community members. Scholarships and bursaries are awarded for the purpose of pursuing studies at a post-secondary or trade institution. Applicants returning to Secondary School are not eligible.
